Branding for Transport & Logistics

September 14, 2017

The Unknown Creative have built a reputation as industry-leading designers for Transport & Logistics. Directed by John Dunne, they regularly add to their unparalleled body of influential, original work for the sector, and their innovative design is commercially active across Europe.

Among the many large, public and private sector organisations to regularly work with The Unknown Creative are Urbact, Transport for London (TfL), and the United Nations Development Programme. The longstanding working relationship with TfL alone has led to design work produced for many TfL and Mayor of London affiliates such as Fleet Source, Safe Urban Driving, FORS, and CLOCS – whose brand identity was developed and delivered by John Dunne himself.

Now a Prince Michael Road Safety Award winning identity, CLOCS is revolutionising the management of work related road risk (WRRR), and its brand is inspiring change throughout the industry. Numerous, renowned freight organisations have recognised the CLOCS identity as an exemplary icon to aspire to, and change with.

This level of visually inspiring Transport & Logistics brand design was repeated when John Dunne designed and delivered the Connect Tees Valley brand identity to five North East Pubic Transport authorities. The brand, and overarching tagline: “Let’s Journey Together”, is still being rolled out across the region today, five years on.

Other organisations originally established in the North East to have benefited from TUC’s inceptive, engaging branding, include: Bike Sherpa, whose clever, quirky brand mark effectively communicates their work, the North Pennines Electric Bike Network, who have rolled out TUC’s design across a picaresque vista of England’s endearing backbone, and OSE, whose vibrant X-Sport identity is being used for the swift, safe transport of sporting goods across Europe.

Also on mainland Europe, LaMilo are creating change in freight deliveries, ensuring an efficient and integrated approach to logistics. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, LaMilo have been using the smart infographics created by TUC to promote their progressive work.

TUC’s latest design project in the industry was to create a brand identity and responsive website for Construction Logistics (CL). Again, the longstanding affiliation with TfL and MoL led to the agency being directly engaged for the project. The new identity and associated suite of graphics produced for CL are classic examples of John Dunne’s, and TUC’s creative skills and instinct – distinct design that simultaneously stands out, and yet fits into and communicates seamlessly in the industry.

John Dunne, and The Unknown Creative, continue to deliver the different, in an industry built upon change.
