In collaboration with 20 business partners, European innovation giants EIT Digital have launched the Manufacturing Industry Digital Innovation Hub (MIDIH) – and The Unknown Creative have delivered the brand identity for this multi-partner initiative.
MIDIH is funded by Horizon 2020 (The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation), with the progressive Factories of Future (FoF) contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP), and I4MS (ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs) programmes. And while there may be some long-winded acronyms in the digital innovation industry, the work they deliver and technologies they develop are simply wonderful.
MIDIH will simultaneously support and link multiple initiatives for the digitisation of the manufacturing industry, boosting investment and industry collaborations through crucial partnership and networking. With some recent studies suggesting that the digitisation of the manufacturing process could add more than €110bn of annual revenue in Europe – even within the next five years – the potential impact of initiatives like MIDIH is sizeable.
The Unknown Creative were engaged to create MIDIH’s brand identity through our regular work for and excellent working relationships developed within EIT Digital. With Tech and Digital Innovation being among our specialist sectors, we worked with the client on finalising the title of their initiative, and the colour scheme that would communicate effectively as they establish their collaboration within the industry.
We also created an original logotype for the brand mark, and designed the memorable visual identity that will take MIDIH forward as it creates a network of like-minded business partners. While they are travelling, networking, and building this expansive client base, they will also be using a series of practical, adaptable presentation slides we delivered as part of the project.
MIDIH are one of the many exciting organisations and initiatives to be launched by EIT and their many business partners. We have been working regularly with EIT Digital for nearly two years now, on a range of design projects across their multi-location nodes in Europe and the US, and their associated business partners and education establishments.
