World Environment Day 2017

June 5, 2017

June 5th is World Environment Day, which encourages people from around the globe to venture outdoors and into nature – appreciating its beauty and significance and striving, collectively, to protect our shared home.

At The Unknown Creative, we have been lucky enough to see our original design thrive for a range of progressive, environmentally conscious organisations across multiple industries. Just last month we visited Palestra – the home of Transport for London – where we heard how the Mayor of London’s plan for a carbon-free capital is being integrated into progressive blueprints for public transport and infrastructure. Having worked on brands like FORS, and CLOCS, we’d already seen how this vision was beginning to shape the future of environmentally sound construction logistics in the UK (and into Europe, with LaMilo), but it was great to be invited to the event, to see how we can continue to be a part of this essential, extensive environmental venture.

More recently, our work has taken in an awareness of the United Nations Development Programme’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and a good example of how it is possible – and rewarding – to incorporate the ethos of environmental consciousness into brand design is with our work on Urbanscape. Knauf’s exciting, sustainable green roofing system has been rolled out across Europe, and Asia, since we created Urbanscape’s green, clean, bright identity and penned its brand guidelines.

Here at The Unknown Creative we believe in recycling wherever possible within our offices, and make good use of our picaresque planet in all of our social activities – which collectively range from any-weather-running to managing an allotment and comprehensive compost heap!

Today, from our London design agency, we join this year’s host, Canada, in wishing all its inhabitants a happy, prosperous, World Environment Day. For information on how to get involved, visit: https://worldenvironmentday.global/
