The Unknown Creative support Darlington FC

May 22, 2017

The Unknown Creative attended Darlington FC’s 2017 Annual Awards evening on Saturday. Creative Director and Quakers fan, John Dunne, donned his black-and-white – this time in the form of a suit – at the Mercure Kings Head Hotel in Darlington’s town centre. At the well-attended ceremony, Mark Beck took the prestigious Player’s Player – and Fan’s Player of the year Awards – and Nathan Cartman was rewarded for his finish against Tamworth with the Goal of the Season.

There was also deserved recognition for long-term club Doctor, Steve Charlton, who stepped down after three decades in the job, and Glen and Mary Bowes, who won the Harvey Madden award for outstanding contribution to supporting the club.

Major shareholder, Darlington FC Supporters Group, recently set several crucial dates for the club to raise money in order to progress, having recently been denied the opportunity to compete in the Vanarama National League North play-offs, despite finishing fifth. Around £50,000 is required to improve the ground in July, September, and by the end of December. An initial target of £43,000, to improve the pitch, has already been met.

As passionate followers of Darlington’s progress, London design agency, The Unknown Creative has contributed towards meeting DFCSG’s ambition with a significant contribution towards the first target, and advertising board sponsorship at Blackwell Meadows from the start of next season.

We would love to see The Quakers back in the Football League as soon as possible – especially as a progressive, public-and-fan-owned club.
